2026-09-07: Launching the design site

Summary

This blog post goes over why I am launching yet another website, and what the general plan will be.

Content

Yet another website..?

I already run two websites:

Yet now I am launching this third website, ClockworkDesign.org, to talk about efficiency and optimization. So why another website?

I decided I wanted to keep the scope of each site nice and focused. This is the breakdown I settled on:

  • All my writings about Christianity and my faith will end up on BibleDocs.org.
  • All my writings about efficiency, optimization, and how I do things in terms of workflow and whatnot will end up on ClockworkDesign.org.
  • Everything else will end up on StevenTammen.com. This will probably mostly end up being random thoughts and ramblings about history and philosophy and so on = things that are neither theology-focused nor particularly related to practical decision-making and cost-benefit analysis (like the content that will show up on ClockworkDesign.org).

Doing things this way will let internet netizens only consume the content from me that is actually of interest to them, without having all the rest mixed in.

Was there a particular trigger that got me pointed in this direction?

It was probably when I was recording progress updates for my ministry blog that dealt a lot more with technical specifics than things directly related to the ministry. I wanted a way to document all the stuff I was doing relating setting up the audio recording environment, website theme, etc… but having discussion of these matters embedded directly within the ministry updates just made them substantially less relevant for most people interested in my ministry itself. At least, that is what I decided.
